My name is Connor Laforce and I am new to teaching this year! I recently graduated from the University of the Fraser Valley with my Bachelor of Education after previously completing a Bachelor of Integrated Studies from the same university. During my studies, I focused on learning about the Indigenous Peoples of Canada and the ways in which we can honour them.

Although this is my first year as a classroom teacher, I am not new to the world of education! I have been a private math and science tutor for 7 years, where I got the opportunity to work with students from grade 3 all the way to grade 12. I have always had a passion for learning and teaching!

Growing up, I was a competitive dancer and spent countless hours at the studio with my friends. Dance was always such a big part of my life as it allowed me to be active, creative, and social. This passion for dance is also what lead me to the world of teaching, giving me the chance to teach dance classes as a teenager.

Now as an adult, my hobbies include spending time in nature, cooking, reading, and enjoying time with my family. My ideal weekend would include a walk or hike out in the woods to breathe in the fresh air, this would be followed by trying out a fun, new recipe inspired by the cuisine from another part of the world, next I would love to enjoy time playing cards with my family, and lastly I would curl up with a good book.

I am very much looking forward to making this school year amazing for each and every one of my students! I am passionate about creating a welcoming and safe environment in my classroom, as well as teaching about the importance of empathy and acceptance for all.
